We welcome any comments or concerns you may have. Also, we would like to hear your suggestions about how we can improve this site. This is a new endeavor for me.
I am being impacted by these regulations and I believe thousands of others are as well and I am trying to do something about it. I truly believe we can get Diesel Motorhomes Exempted AGAIN!
They were EXEMPT, up until 2024. That is the year the CARB/ Clean Air policies changed. In their haste to rid the world of carbon fueled vehicles, they widened the net to include diesel powered motorhomes and put them in the same basket as commercial diesel trucks, even though the emissions footprint of the motorhomes is a fraction of the commercial trucks.
This policy needs to be revisited and privately owned diesel powered motorhomes need to be removed from that basket and reclassified as EXEMPT.
The effects of this policy change go well beyond the motorhome owners.
It will take a concerted effort. If enough people, both RV owners and the owners and employees of all of the businesses who are being affected and will be affected by these policies, get involved and send in their emails and letters of concern, IT WILL HAPPEN!
Here is a fact.
These regulations are impacting used motorhomes much more severely than new or newer models.
Used motorhomes naturally require more maintenance, and thousands of businesses across the country specialize in servicing them. If the new regulations force hundreds or even thousands of used motorhomes out of service due to non-compliance, the financial damage to these businesses will be significant.
This economic impact will not be limited to California. It will also affect RV businesses across the 11 states that are adopting CARB/Clean Air policies.
Together, these 11 states represent 32% of the total U.S. population — meaning a substantial portion of the RV service industry nationwide is at risk.
The ripple effect on local economies and small businesses will be profound.
